The Social Development Council of Cornwall and Area is proud to launch Project Warmth for the 2018-19 winter. Project Warmth provides window insulation kits to low-income households which are not properly equipped for harsh seasonal conditions. The use of these window insulation kits seals out drafts and ensures households remain warm and comfortable throughout the winter. This extra support helps families avoid uncomfortable living environments, which can contribute to negative health effects and cause an unfortunate cycle of additional expenses.
In the fall of 2017, the Social Development Council of Cornwall and Area began collecting funds from community businesses and organizations to support this year’s Project Warmth initiative and offer help to those who need it most.
“We are proud to be part of such an awesome project, this is the 5th year that we have been able to offer project WARMTH in Cornwall and Area and we hope that we can keep this project going strong in years to come, said Carilyne Hebert, Executive Director of the Social Development Council of Cornwall and Area “this is one of the projects that we tend to lend to our SLC College placement Students, giving them a project to lead during their placement time with our support. They’ve always done a great job.”
